A notification in this regard will be issued soon, said Satej Patil, Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies.
As the third phase of lockdown begins in Gujarat, the Vijay Rupani government has announced some reliefs and concessions in the green and orange zones as per the central government's order. Although the central government has given permission to open pan-spice shops in the green zone, this permission has not been given in Gujarat.
The Rupani government has made it clear that tobacco, gutkha, pan-masala, beedi shops will not be opened in all zones of the state for the next two weeks and these items will not be sold. A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani took some decisions to extend the lockdown and implement it strictly. The meeting also decided to close pan-spice shops.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailasanathan, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister M. That. Das, Chief Minister's Secretary Ashwini Kumar was present and he drafted the rules after considering an extensive discussion on extending the lockdown.
Announcing the announcement, Ashwinikumar said the state would not allow concessions in the sale of essential commodities except milk, grains, groceries, vegetables, fruits and medicine in the red zone areas. In Gujarat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporations, the number of positive cases of corona is high, so the lockdown will be strictly followed in the municipal areas. At the same time, the lockdown will be strictly enforced in districts where the incidence of coronary heart disease is high, he said.
